BONDHU Inaugurates Energy-saving Stove Distribution Program at Savar

On March 3, 2024 the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) has successfully inaugurated an Energy-saving Stove Distribution program aimed at improving the livelihoods of the Bede families residing in the No. 1 Ward of Savar Municipality. Led by a dedicated team including Maruna Akter and Kazi Humayun Kabir, Community Development Specialists of the BONDHU, the initiative focused on distributing Sashroyi Chula (Energy-saving Stove) among the Bede families to enhance their livelihoods. As part of the broader Livelihood Project, the initiative underscores the BONDHU’s commitment to holistic community development.

The initiative commenced with a thorough survey of Bede Palli, facilitated by collaboration with Mr. Romzan Ahmed, Councilor of Ward no. 01. The team collected data by directly engaging with each family, identifying 2065 beneficiary families for the distribution of Sashroyi Chula.

The stove distribution program was inaugurated by Dr. Eng. Khalequzzaman, highlighting the commitment of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation to uplift the marginalized communities. On the event of the inauguration, a total of 413 Energy-saving Stoves were distributed.

Stakeholders, including members of the Bede community and local authorities, contributed to the success of the program.
