“Bondhu Mela-2022” at Nandail, Mymensingh

The Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) orchestrated "Bondhu Mela-2022" at the playground of Bashhati High School in Chandipasha Union, Nandail Upazila, Mymensingh. This three-day fair commenced on the 27th of December, 2022, and unfolded with a plethora of diverse events.

The inaugural day commenced with a ceremonious opening, graced by Mr. Anwarul Abedin Khan, the esteemed Member of Parliament for Mymensingh – 9 (Nandail) Constituency, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests, including Agronomist Mr. Bibhutibhushan Sarkar, former Additional Director of the Directorate of Agricultural Extension in the Dhaka Region; Mr. Md. Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan, Mayor of Nandail Municipality, Mymensingh; Agriculturist Mr. Md. Anisuzzaman, the Upazila Agriculture Officer in Nandail, Mymensingh; and Mr. Md. Shahab Uddin Bhuiyan, Chairman of No. 4 Chandipasha Union Parishad in Nandail attended the event. The event was presided over by Mr. ATM Arif, Assistant Commissioner (Land), Nandail, Mymensingh. The day's events featured the local traditional stick game known as "Lathi Khela" and captivating cultural performances. Additionally, the Bashori Leto Natyadol (Bashori Leto Troupe) staged two comedic plays by Nazrul titled "Purono Balad Notun Bou" and "Swami-Strir Jhogra."

The second day saw a Ha Doo-Doo game competition, a nostalgic pastoral Bengal pastime. Artistes from Bashori presented melodious renditions of poet Nazrul's compositions. The stage lit up with performances by Bashori artistes Gule Ferdous Lata, Paradesi Siddique, Ashish Kumar Sheel, Zabul Islam, Sumaiya Sultana Ani, and others, showcasing both solo and group Nazrul Music.

The culminating day marked the closing ceremony, graced by Mr. Mohammad Abul Mansoor, the Upazila Executive Officer in Nandail, Mymensingh, as the chief guest. Agronomist Mr. Bibhutibhushan Sarkar, former Additional Director of the Directorate of Agricultural Extension in the Dhaka Region; Agriculturist Mr. Nikhil Chandra Sen, Former Additional Director of the Directorate of Agricultural Extension in Mymensingh Region; Mr. Md. Shahab Uddin Bhuiyan, Chairman of No. 4 Chandipasha Union Parishad in Nandail; and Mr. Manas Kumar Bahadur, Zonal Manager of Mymensingh Zone graced the occasion as the special guests. The ceremony included prize and trophy distribution to the winners. Agriculturist Mr. Md. Anisuzzaman, the Upazila Agriculture Officer in Nandail, Mymensingh, announced the closure of the vibrant three-day "Bondhu Mela-2022."
