'Water Festival' held at Shyam Nagar, Satkhira.

On 15 and 16 January, 2023, on the occasion of the auspicious inauguration of the drinking water supply plant under the Drinking Water Supply Project of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU), a water festival was held at Nawabeki Secondary School premises near Atulia Union Parishad, Shyamnagar, Satkhira. The two-day long fair started on January 15, 2023 and ended on January 16. 

Honorable Member of Parliament of Satkhira No. 4 constituency Mr. SM Jaglul Haider, MP was present as the chief guest in this festival. Mr. SM Ataul Haque Dolan, Chairman, Upazila Parishad, Shyamnagar, Satkhira; Mr. Md. Moktar Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Shyamnagar, Satkhira; Mr. Md. Abu Saleh Babu, Chairman, Atulia Union Parishad, Shyamnagar, Satkhira; Mr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Assistant Engineer, Directorate of Public Health Engineering, Shyamnagar, Satkhira, were present as the special guests. 

The festival was presided over by Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman Mithu, Head Teacher of Nawabenki Secondary School, Atulia, Shyamnagar, Satkhira.

The opening ceremony of the first day was followed by a session of Nazrul music and recitation competition, boy's cock fight, girl's biscuit race and cultural programs. The chief guest of the event inaugurated the water plant by filling up a jar with the water of the new plant.
