A meeting titled “Energy-saving Stove Distribution and Discussion Meeting” held at Savar

Under the patronages of the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) and cooperation of Md. Habibur Rahman, the founder chairman of Uttaran Foundation and Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), a distribution event featuring Energy-saving stoves was organized on 14 March 2024, benefitting 4,000 impoverished families in Ward No. 1 of Savar Municipality. The inauguration of this 7-day stove distribution program took place on Thursday morning at the Badda High School premises in Savar Municipality. Initially, 400 families received Energy-saving Stoves on the first day, with subsequent distributions planned in phases.

               

Savar Municipality Councilor of Ward No. 1 Md. Ramzan Ahmed, presided over the meeting. Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akbar Ali Khan delivered his speech as the chief guest. Maruna Aktar, a community development specialist representing the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU), addressed the audience.


Ms. Maruna Aktar of the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) emphasized the transition of the local populace towards cooking with eco-friendly Energy-saving stoves. It was announced that 4,000 marginalized families, including Bede communities, in Ward No. 1 of Savar Municipality would benefit from the distribution of Energy-saving stoves.
