Tania’s Journey towards Empowerment

Tania Akter hailed from Bosaullah Village of Arial Union in Tongibari Upazila, Munshiganj, is a mother of three children. Her life took a challenging turn when her husband left, leaving her responsible for their three children and struggling to make ends meet. The harsh reality of financial difficulties made her situation worse. After her husband left, the burden of providing for the family fell straight on her shoulders.

Despite the adversity, fate led her to Abdus Salam, the Assistant District Manager of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) in Tangibari, Munshiganj. He introduced her to an opportunity to work with Bondhu Chula, a project that promised an income of 10,000 to 15,000 taka per month. Tania initially found it hard to believe in the possibilities of income from the project.

However, due to her dire financial situation, Tania decided to initiate the work. Starting on November 8, 2020, she began working with Bondhu Chula in Kurmira Village. In the initial days, Tania sold a modest number of Bondhu Chula units. As she witnessed the potential of this work, her confidence grew, and she continued with determination.

Tania's journey took a positive turn as she received support from her Bondhu Chula partners and undertook training at the Munshiganj District Office. Increasing communication with officials from Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation's head office further fueled her optimism, and she started dreaming of a better life for herself and her children.

With the earnings from her work as a Bondhu Chula Doctor, Tania enrolled her daughter in a madrasah. As she continued working in Arial Union, maintaining Bondhu Chula units as a Bondhu Chula Service Doctor, Tania's monthly income gradually increased to a range of 10,000 to 12,000 taka. This financial stability not only allowed her to meet the demands of her children but also turned her into an inspirational figure in the community.

Now, Tania actively participates in familial and social functions, leading a happier life with her children. She expresses her gratitude to Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) and its officials for providing her with the opportunity to transform her life and become a self-reliant individual in her community.
