Story of Nusrat Jahan - Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU)

Story of Nusrat Jahan

Nusrat Jahan of Brahmanbaria, a bachelor’s graduate in Accounting from Brahmanbaria Pouro Degree College, was working as a Bondhu Chula Doctor in 2019 when she saw a business opportunity for herself through the Foundation.

With the support of her friends and family, Mrs. Jahan started her own business in June 2020 selling Bondhu Chula, becoming one of the Foundation’s first female business partners. Mrs. Jahan named her shop Mahera Enterprise, in dedication to her only daughter, Mahera. Although Mrs. Jahan was pressed for sales initially, she used her training as a doctor to market door-to-door to customers to convince them of the benefits of Chula. Within four months Mahera Enterprise had earned significant capital and sales had increased to a sustainable level. Mrs. Jahan plans to expand her business by recruiting more Doctors, whom she will personally train on marketing strategy. She now represents the Foundation as a proud business owner and female entrepreneur.
