Story of ADM Gourango Sarker
I
am Gourango Kumar Sarker, an inhabitant of Karapara Union of Bagerhat District.
I am the fourth child of my parents. As I was passionate to study, so I passed
Degree (Pass) course in Arts with much hardship. In 2010, I used to work in a
local NGO with a very low salary and I could barely support my family. One day,
I thought of bringing a change in my life. After few days, I became acquainted
with Atanu Sarker, DGM, Bondhu Chula Project of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation
(BONDHU) and I came to know about Bondhu Chula. Then I applied for a job in the
BONDHU office and got the job. After being recruited, I received field training
in Khulna and attended as an Assistant District Manager (ADM) at Manirampur
unit office of Jessore. By working with the staff, I realized that BONDHU is a humane
development organization and it would be possible to bring change in life and
this became true in my life. In my conjugal life, I have two sons. My elder son
cannot speak and he has been given treatment in Velore, India with the
financial assistance of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU). By working in
BONDHU, I can afford to bear his educational expenses and medicine cost of 7000
taka every month. I also bought a Discover (125 CC) motor cycle with the salary
and incentive, once which dream was beyond my capability to fulfill. Besides, I bought a piece of land for building
a house of my own.
Bangladesh
Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) is a platform for the unemployed youths to
materialize their dream. I was nominated 1st as the Assistant
District Manager in whole Bangladesh for two times and 2nd for one
time. I would like to continue my job in BONDHU as long as possible.
