Inaugural ceremony of Energy-saving Stove

On August 7, 2022, under the initiative of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU), the inaugural ceremony of "Distribution of 1 lakh Energy-saving Stoves among the Rohingya refugees and Bengali families in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar was held. The program manager of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) Dr.  Engineer Khalequzzaman was present in this event. The staff of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU)  and the local dignitaries were present in the energy-saving stove distribution ceremony.

In this opening ceremony, the activities of the energy-saving stove project were started by distributing portable energy-saving stoves among the Rohingya refugees and local Bengali families.

BONDHU has developed a portable “Energy-saving Stove” considering the needs of a special class of customers.

Due to the Rohingya refugees, large-scale tree cutting and forest destruction is going on in Cox's Bazar area, which is having an adverse effect on the environment and surroundings of the area. Bangladesh government is providing LPG gas to Rohingya refugees to deal with energy crisis. However, local communities and refugees still face fuel shortages. In view of this, the BONDHU has taken up a project to distribute Energy-saving stoves. The main objective of the Energy-saving stove project is to meet the increased energy demand of Cox's Bazar and its surrounding areas and reduce environmental damage caused by the Rohingya refugees. The duration of this project is 2022-2023.
