A Story of Transformation
Mr. Rabiul Islam, hailing from the village of Vadsa in the Joypurhat Sadar Upazila, Joypurhat had to face numerous challenges before finding his way to economic stability through the support of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU).
Born to the late Abdus Salam, Mr. Rabiul Islam initially earned a living by selling tickets to trade fairs in various districts. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought an abrupt halt to trade fairs, disrupting his source of income. Due to financial hardships, Mr. Rabiul Islam had to navigate his family with difficulties.
He began working as a mason in different sanitary shops. Despite his efforts, his economic condition remained stagnant, and the challenges persisted. It was during this time that fate led him to a fortuitous encounter with the ADM and DSM of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU).
Encouraged by the BONDHU’s staff, Mr. Rabiul Islam explored the opportunity of starting a Bondhu Chula business. Consulting with his family, he made the decision to become a partner of the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation on the 1st of November, 2020.
This decision proved to be transformative for Mr. Rabiul Islam. With the support of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation, he not only achieved economic solvency but also witnessed an improvement in his social status. The Bondhu Chula business became a source of steady income, allowing him to earn between 20,000 to 25,000 taka every month.
Moreover, Mr. Rabiul Islam expanded his operations by employing two masons on a regular basis in his factory. The business became a means of financial stability as well as a source of employment for others.
